M1 traffic accident leaves man with serious injuriesRSS Feed
A traffic accident on the M1 has left the driver of a car with serious injuries.
In a statement published by the Leicester Mercury following the incident on November 2nd, police were unable to say what his condition was.
The man's car was involved in a collision with two lorries at 05:19 GMT, according to the newspaper, which subsequently kept the road closed for some time, causing rush-hour tailbacks.
This crash was followed by a massive 34-vehicle pile-up on November 4th on the M5 in Somerset, resulting in several deaths and many severe injuries.
Police are investigating the possibility that smoke from a nearby fireworks display impacted on road visibility, playing some role in the incident.
Seven people lost their lives in the accident, while 51 people were injured. Eleven remain in hospital, according to reports. Some 30 cars and six articulated lorries were involved.
