Continue to learn after driving test, expert advisesRSS Feed
Young drivers should continue learning after passing their driving test, experts maintain, which could lessen their chance of ever being in a traffic accident.
An Institute of Advanced Motorists Spokeswoman said that there should be "greater encouragement" for young drivers to engage in addition learning after their driving test.
This would give responsible drivers a chance to prove their credentials and lower insurance premiums.
"All drivers start as new drivers, and we are committed to encouraging young drivers to develop safely, and to continuing to learn and develop throughout their driving careers," said the spokeswoman.
Motorists should be particularly wary of deer on the road during the autumn season, new figures show.
At least 42,000 traffic accidents involved deer last year, with this figure possibly being as high as 74,000, according to the Deer Initiative.
Numbers of the animal in Britain have almost doubled over the past ten years, and rush hour in autumn collides with dawn and dusk when the deer are most active.
