British motorists 'bad mannered'RSS Feed
A new poll has revealed that British motorists have picked up some bad manners, some of which are dangerous enough to cause a traffic accident.
The research, carried out by Confused.com, revealed that while 92 per cent of people consider themselves to be courteous drivers, we believe that almost one in three others are rude.
According to the study, the worst thing drivers do at the wheel is talking on their mobile phones, with 27 per cent of motorists reporting that this is the most irksome behaviour.
Some 23 per cent said they found tailgating the most annoying, while 22 per cent wanted to put a stop to aggressive behaviour on the roads.
This follows research from car insurance specialist Admiral which revealed that 79 per cent of motorists are angered by the practise of tailgating.
Other annoyances on the list included failure to indicate, cutting up, not paying attention, hogging the middle lane and driving too slowly.
