Yeovil woman suffers spinal injury in traffic accidentRSS Feed
A woman has been left with a spinal injury following a traffic accident on Preston Road, Yeovil.
The collision of the woman, in her 40s, with a car has prompted a call from police for any information relating to the incident, according to the Western Gazette.
The newspaper reports that the victim was initially taken to Yeovil District Hospital before being transferred to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
There has yet to be any confirmation of the causes of the crash at this stage.
One of the biggest causes of traffic accidents is drink driving in the UK, which new figures show has increased compared to last year.
Data from the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) indicates that the number of drivers found to be over the legal alcohol limit has increased.
In an effort to crack down on this trend, ACPO Chief Constable Phil Gormley explained that the police will be "redoubling our efforts" to address the problem.
