Women involved in fewer accident claimsRSS Feed
Women company drivers are making fewer accident claims than men, but only by a little, according to new research.
In accidents involving women, 36 per cent were deemed as entirely or partly their fault.
This figure rose to 41 per cent for men, which the firm that commissioned the survey - Total Accident Management - says makes women better drivers.
"Company motorists are professional drivers, some covering tens of thousands miles on company business each year and generally their standards of driving are very good," noted Penny Stoolman, Total's managing director.
This is why the at fault traffic accident rates are so close between women and men, she explained.
Just over six per cent of the accidents involved no driver at the wheel, with almost a fifth of these caused by leaving the handbrake off.
This comes after research from TomTom showed that the average man's stress levels soar seven times higher than a woman's when stuck in traffic.
