Woman in high-speed traffic accident 'lucky to escape with minor injuries'RSS Feed
A woman involved in a high-speed traffic accident over the weekend has managed to avoid serious broken bones, sustaining only minor injuries in the M4 crash.
The driver hit the central barrier along the motorway, with response teams being forced to close by carriageways while the accident was dealt with, reports Get Reading.
Speaking to the news agency, Thames Valley Police Inspector Andy West warned drivers that the outcome could have been much worse.
He explained: "She was very fortunate considering the amount of traffic on a Bank Holiday weekend."
A study carried out earlier this month by TomTom has suggested that men suffer stress levels seven times higher than women behind the wheel.
Health experts warn that this may increase the likelihood of being involved in an accident, because stressed drivers could be more prone to erratic driving.
Stress levels as measured by the presence of chemicals in saliva found that women had an 8.7 per cent increase when stuck in traffic, while men's soared by 60 per cent.
