Workers fall from television towerRSS Feed
Three men were injured in an accident at work after falling from WKTV's broadcast tower in New York.
The incident occurred on the morning of Monday (October 25th) when the three men were being hoisted up the tower to update WCNY's transmission.
When they were approximately 20 to 30 ft off the ground, the antennae at the top of the building collapsed, causing the three men to fall to the ground.
William Fox, 49, suffered serious facial injuries from the accident at work and Kelly Dougherty,30, injured his foot while a third worker, Gregory Campbell, 44, was evaluated and discharged from the hospital.
The Deerfield Fire Department helped at the scene before the injured were transported to Saint Elizabeth's medical centre for evaluation and treatment.
The three men were employed by Alpha Antenna Services when they were sent up the 350-foot television tower in Deerfield.
