Woman dies after road sign traffic accidentRSS Feed
A 30-year-old woman has died after a traffic accident in Birmingham involving a road sign, police have said.
The crash happened at around 03.30 GMT on Thursday, November 4th, near Lancaster Circus.
It is suspected the car hit a road sign and a lamppost was also damaged.
The female motorist, who was from Nottingham, had to be cut free from the wreckage and was taken to hospital where she died.
A 43-year-old passenger from Smethwick also received minor injuries.
West Midlands Police said: "While the exact cause is to be established, officers believe the pair had been in the city centre and were heading towards the motorway when the Hyundai Coupe left the road and collided with a road sign."
This comes shortly after three men were injured in a traffic accident after the van they were in left the road and plunged down an embankment in Scotland.
