Will an accident claim follow motorcycle crash in Hartlepool?RSS Feed
Police in Hartlepool are keen to speak to the driver of a transit van following a motorcycle accident in which the teenage rider was injured.
The 18-year-old suffered a broken bone in his ankle after he came off his bike along the Tees Road in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, reports the Hartlepool Evening Gazette.
According to the newspaper, police are keen to speak to the transit van driver who spoke to the motorcyclist following the incident, but who left before emergency services arrived.
The news comes shortly after it emerged that another young man from Teesside, Lee Readman, was killed in a motorcycle accident while on holiday in Greece.
Mr Readman's father Wilf told the Evening Gazette that he plans to take legal action against the bike hire company.
He told the newspaper: "I don't want anyone to have to go through what me and my ex-wife have suffered, and the heartache of bringing your child's dead body back."
