Website launched to reduce motorcycle accidentsRSS Feed
Accident claims from motorcycle riders may be reduced with the help of a new version of a website.
The re-launched BikeSafe site is to offer an enhanced web booking service and will keep track of post-test training after people have attended a BikeSafe workshop.
BikeSafe is a police-led scheme to reduce motorcycle accidents by helping riders to bridge the gap between passing their test and going onto accredited post-test training.
Potentially life-threatening problems arising from filtering, cornering, junctions, overtaking and riding in groups are all covered by the BikeSafe programme.
The new site is to be administered by the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI), which is a long-term supporter of BikeSafe.
Karen Cole, MCI's director of safety, commented: "BikeSafe is a popular and important motorcycle assessment scheme. The new website will offer riders a hub of information and allows interactivity and an easy booking system."
North Yorkshire Police recently warned riders of the importance of safe motorcycling after a spate of fatalities in the region.
