A boy has died in a traffic accident after being hit by a car while on his skateboard.
The 11-year-old was killed after a collision with a vehicle in Hurstpierpoint in West Sussex.
James Howard died of his injuries at Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
Police are investigating the accident, which occurred on South Avenue, a residential cul-de-sac.
His parents, Lawrence and Sandra Howard issued a statement though the police, the Diss Express reports.
"Everyone remembers him as always being so full of fun, energy and enthusiasm in everything he did," they said.
"He had a huge range of friends and he was always able to make everyone laugh. He brought the joy out in everything he did and everyone he touched."
The news as a man was killed in a tractor accident in Scotland, just as the Health and Safety Executive is launching a drive to improve safety on farms, potentially reducing accident claims.
