Roof workers' accident claims targeted for reduction

A new event that aims to improve the safety of roof workers and reduce the number of accident claims is set to be held.

The roof workers safety event takes place from 17:30 until 20:00 BST on May 11th at Clifton Territorial Army Centre in Manchester.

Local roofing contractors and building companies from the Greater Manchester area are expected to attend the forum, which is being held as part of a nationwide drive to improve standards and promote safer working methods in the industry.

The event has been organised by the Health and Safety Executive in conjunction with Trading Standards and the Working Well Together campaign, with interested parties advised to contact Catherine Charnley on 0161 952 8335.

It is free to attend and will provide information and advice on health and safety laws.

A similar event for roof workers in the Cheshire area is being held on May 26th at the Winsford Lifestyle Centre in Winsford.
