Motorbike accident claims risk highlighted after musician is hospitalisedRSS Feed
The risk of accident claims stemming from motorcycle riders involved in crashes has been brought into sharp focus after a leading musician was severely hurt.
Daniel Lanois, the Canadian singer-songwriter, was injured in serious motorcycle accident near Los Angeles.
So far reports have not indicated if anyone else was involved or if an accident claim could be filed.
A statement from his record label said that due to the severity of his injuries he is expected to be in hospital for some time and has called off his summer tour.
Lanois is best-known for working with the likes of Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and U2 on some of their biggest albums.
In the UK, the risk of accident claims resulting from the new two-part motorcycle test has prompted the government to order a review of the exam.
The review comes after motorcycle groups raised concerns with the Department for Transport about the test.
