'Life-ruining' traffic accident settled out of court

A wannabe model who now has to use a wheelchair following a traffic accident, has settled out of court.

Rachel Davis, 22, was in the front seat of a car when it came of the A832 Avoch to Munlochy Road in March 2006.

The car was alleged to have been driven by her then-boyfriend John Catto who was thought to have lost control when racing another car at high speed.

Miss Davis lodged a claim for £3.5m against Mr Catto, 20, due to her injuries but the case was eventually settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.

According to the Ross-shire Journal, Miss Davis suffered a broken pelvis, head, chest and spinal injuries.

This comes after two teenagers lost their lives and three were injured in a traffic accident in a notorious stretch of road near Bridgend in South Wales.
