Huddersfield teen's actions may have prevented traffic accident claimsRSS Feed
A Kearsley teenager has been commended for his efforts to prevent further traffic accident claims during a three-car pile-up last winter.
Chris George came across an incident at the bottom of a hill, and spent two hours in the snow and ice diverting other vehicles away from the site of the crash to prevent a further traffic accident, reports the Bolton News.
Speaking to the newspaper, Mr George said: "I realised with the weather it was just going to get worse.
"I thought rather than let other cars possibly crash it would be easy enough to turn cars around, stopping them from crashing."
Earlier this week, drivers were commended for helping towards the decline of traffic accidents resulting in serious injury by RoadSafe.
The most recent figures from the Department for Transport revealed that the number of people killed or seriously injured on Britain's roads dropped by nine per cent in the 12 months to June.
