Fatal traffic accident possibly due to fogRSS Feed
One motorist sustained fatal injuries during a traffic accident which involved a coach, a lorry and two cars.
A coach is thought to have collided with an articulated lorry on the northbound carriageway of the M5 in Gloucestershire.
The lorry was subsequently pushed onto the southbound carriageway, colliding with a Ford Fiesta which then hit a Rover.
Sustaining fatal injuries, the driver of the Ford Fiesta died at the scene while three passengers on the Cardiff to Leeds Megabus were taken to hospital with minor injuries, along with the lorry driver and those in the Rover.
A Megabus spokesman said that it is believed there was heavy fog when the traffic accident occurred.
"Safety is our absolute priority and we will be carrying out our own internal investigation, as well as assisting the police in any way that we can with their inquiries into the accident," he added.
This comes after news from AA Insurance that accident claims have risen due to the winter weather causing more traffic accidents on roads in the UK.
