'Crash cards' brought in to limit accident claims at TT racesRSS Feed
A new scheme that hopes to limit the number of deaths and accident claims from motorcyclists taking part in the annual Isle of Man TT races this year has been launched.
The crash cards give vital information to ambulance crews about the biker that could help save his or her life, according to the BBC.
Created by the Ambulance Motorcycle Club, this is the first time the scheme has been seen at the TT races although it is already in place in other parts of the country.
South Essex paramedic Ian Burrell, chairman of the Ambulance Motorcycle Club, said: "This card is borne out of experience it has been designed by serving paramedics who have been on both sides of an accident as the injured rider or attending as medical help."
The Ambulance Motorcycle Club advises anyone who is the first on the scene of a motorbike accident not to touch or move the injured driver.
