Campaign underway to reduce accident claims in north-eastRSS Feed
A campaign has been launched that could help to reduce the number of accident claims in the construction industry in the north-east of England, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has announced.
Working Well Together North East is the name of a new construction industry awareness group for the region, which will aim to improve the safety of workers and lower the number of serious incidents in the construction sector.
A special event is being held at Wynyard Park, Billingham on April 28th to mark the launch of the new group.
Anyone who works in construction, such as builders, scaffolders, roofers, electricians, joiners and painters, is invited to attend the event, which will host a series of presentations aimed at construction managers and operatives.
Working Well Together North East is made up of more than 20 regional organisations.
Meanwhile, the HSE has revealed that nearly one in four of the construction sites it visited across Britain during March failed safety checks.
