Accident claims in the spotlight on World Asthma DayRSS Feed
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has announced it is taking part in a series of activities to tie in with World Asthma Day on May 5th.
As part of its efforts, the HSE will be launching new guidance, entitled Controlling Airborne Contaminants at Work: A Guide to Local Exhaust Ventilation.
Meanwhile, the HSE is also introducing a new employer's leaflet, entitled Clearing the Air: A Simple Guide to Buying and Using Local Exhaust Ventilation.
In addition, a new local exhaust ventilation website is being launched to help spread the word about the key issues.
Businesses that are keen to protect their workers' safety and reduce the risk of accident claims may be interested to read the new documents.
In other news, the HSE has confirmed that new regulations further protecting workers from the dangers of hazardous sources of artificial light have come into force this week.
The Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations meets a European Union directive to ensure that standards are set and harmonised across the continent.
