Accident claims fears raisedRSS Feed
A traffic accident could kill or seriously injure children crossing a busy road on their way to school, a mother has warned.
Speaking to the Press and Journal, Vanda Ray said that most cars and buses were failing to stop at a zebra crossing on Bruntland Road near Portlethen Academy.
She told the paper: "Last week I was waiting to go over the crossing and there were two cars coming. One stopped, the other sped up and missed the pram by inches.
"It's one of the main routes to school for kids and it's just a matter of time before a driver speeds through the crossing and hits one of them."
Staying in Scotland, a 16 year-old girl was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary after a motorcycle accident near Trabreaoch, according to the Galloway News.
The paper reports she was treated for serious leg injuries at the hospital after crashing her moped.
