Injured in a criminal assault
Client overview
Our client was in his 30’s and was on a Christmas night out with his colleagues. They had enjoyed a night out in the bars of a small town and were preparing to take a taxi home. Our client decided that he would like to buy some food from a local takeaway and was joined by a colleague whilst the rest of the party left for home.
Accident circumstances
When in the takeaway, our client’s colleague started to become violent with him. The unprovoked violence escalated, and resulted in our client being victim of a sustained and violent attack to the head and body. Our client was taken to hospital where he was admitted overnight.
How we helped
We were contacted by the client’s wife and began to work on their behalf. We obtained CCTV footage from the takeaway and assisted the police with their enquiries. We managed the CICA application progress and kept our client informed of progress on a weekly basis. During the application we obtained all medical records that proved the extent of the injuries that had been suffered.
The situation now
Our client’s claim was settled successfully within 6 months and he has returned to work with the same employer.
